At these Swan Valley wineriesyou can paddle in a lake, make your own wine labelsand eat your body weight in chocolate; all while enjoying delicious vino to boot.

Wine and chocolate masterclasses; need we say more? Coward & Blacks partnership with the Margaret River Chocolate Company allows you to combine two of your fave vices in one. Eat chocolate, swill wine, and try a range of chocolate liqueursthen bag a bottle of your fave to take home with you. Your endorphins will do a happy dance. This is a definite Swan Valley must-do.

Tylers Vineyard

The folks behind Tylers Vinyard are exemplars of work with what you've got, making a diverse range of delicious drops from just one kind of grape, the Grenache. More reasons to love Tylers: their adorable tin shed cellar door and rustic barn, a resident goose, and the fact that you can print your own wine labels right there at the cellar door.

Faber Vineyard

ThisSwan Valley winery scores a spot for all the parties they throw. Think local producer'sdays, Christmas BBQs, Australia day parties and plenty of long lunches among the wine barrels.

Olive Farm Wines

A winery connected to a cheese cafe is our kind of winery. Head toOlive Farm Winesand taste a few drops from their 35-strong wine list, then pop on over to the Cheese Barrel Cafeand do a cheese tasting before ordering a platter and a bottle of wine.

Upper Reach Winery

In February and MarchUpper Reachholds their Twilight Concerts, a series of intimate outdoor shows with awesome soul acts and great food. If youre super quick on the uptake, you can even book a stay in a little cottage on the property, just stumbling distance from the concert.

Keep an eye out for their tasting nights.

Lancaster Wines

Love wine but cant stomach the wank? Lancaster Wines is as down to earth as they come, serving up their fine wine from a tin shed. With some of the oldest vines in the Swan Valley, all their drops are gluggable, but the dessert wines are extra special.

Sandalford Winery

One of the most well-known wineries in the Swan Valley, Sandalford Winery is also one of the best. If you want to try something a little different, why not book yourself in for a wine cruise? Leaving Perth at 9.45am, you'll cruise up the Swan River and arrive by boat. How glam. Enjoy a delicious lunch at Sandalford before cruising back to town.

Oakover Grounds

Oakover Groundshas had a serious face-liftand its looking more like a cutting-edge city bar, with retro references and an industrial-cool fit-out. Exceptunlike urban joints, Oakover overlooks a big lakewhere you can rent paddleboards for free.

Sitella may be young for a winery, but they were chosen as the best small producer of the year in 2016 by Ray Jordan's WA Wine Guide and after you taste their wines you'll understand why. While you can just hit the cellar door for some tastings or drop in for lunch, we think it would be much more fun to pencil in a North African cooking workshop with Sitella's head chef, Mike Price, where you'll also learn a bit about wine pairing.
