Fred Meyer Military Day!

Hello everyone and welcome back to another blog post on ~Foodie with a Passion~! Happy Thursday everyone and we’re almost to the weekend. Last week, Fred Meyer did their military day on Veteran’s Day so I picked up a handful of things and took advantage of the discounts. But before we get started, remember to click subscribe so you don’t miss another Foodie Fun 🤩

Alrighty! Let’s checkout what we got!

Produce
  • Asparagus – on sale for $1.77/lb. I used it as a side dish for some salmon
  • Red Onions – per usual, I had a coupon for 40 cents off if I bought 3
  • Bok Choy – I used this for ramen
  • Sliced Mushrooms – I had to buy two to use the coupon so I ended up just buying 1 and no coupon
  • Spinach – I originally bought this to mix with cream cheese and stuff it in puff pastry with salmon but I ended up with a different recipe so this was my salad greens for the week and pizza topping
Frozen and Refrigerated
  • Ground Pork – on sale for $2.97
  • Kroger Italian Style Veggies, California Style, Broccoli – I had a coupon to buy 3 Kroger brands so I got these three
  • Simple Truth Organic Mukimame – shelled edamame. I had a coupon to buy 1 and get a few cents off
  • Birds Eye Power Blend Southwest Blend and California Blend – I like these for a quick side and I had a coupon for purchasing 2
Dairy
  • Kroger Cheddar Jack Shreds – 32 oz was on $3.97. I didn’t have time to divvy it up so I just chucked it in the freezer
  • Kroger Smoked Provolone Slices – for Philly Cheesesteaks and I was almost out of sliced cheese
  • Kroger Italian Style Shreds – for lasagna in the future. I had a coupon to purchase two 8-oz bag or blocks of cheese so I got this one
  • Kroger Monterey Block Cheese – I chose this one along with the shreds for my coupon
  • Private Selection Parmesan Wedge – we’re almost out of parm and I replenished it
  • Simple Truth Silken Tofu – I’ll probably use some of it to make potstickers since I bought ground pork
  • Kroger Unsalted Butter – it wasn’t on sale but I bought it since I had a coupon and the military discount
  • Darigold Two Percent Milk – $1.97 on sale. For me to use for cooking and for Hubby’s smoothies, cookies, brownies, etc.

  • Simple Truth Jellied Cran Sauce – I like jellies vs whole but this is for Thanksgiving
  • Kroger Sliced Olives – for pizza
  • Kroger Lasagna Sheets – for my lasagna
  • Kroger Black Beans – I’ve done a lot of soups and chilis lately so I was all out of black beans. I’ve got some other beans though in the pantry but I like to have several on hand
  • Ritz Whole Wheat Fresh Stacks – these are perfectly portion sized so I like them and they come in the whole wheat variety.
  • Extra Toasty Cheez-It – I was craving some cheez-its so I bought them. I didn’t have enough participating items for the Buy 10 Get $1 off so I can went able to get it for the cheaper price but we’re doing pretty good for the food budget this month
  • King Arthur Bread Flour – I used the last but when I made French bread last week. And $6.99 was $3.99 (the other bread flour was $4.29 and not on sale)

And there we have it! This should be good for our bulk shopping for the month. Let me know in the comments below what you got for your stock up haul and until then…signing off!
