My Big List of Goals I’m Going to Accomplish in 2022 Week 33 of 52

My Big List of Goals I’m Going to Accomplish in 2022 Week 33 of 52

Here’s my big list of things I want to accomplish in 2022:

Remodel The Kitchen

The electrician finished up his work in the kitchen and so the HH was busy this past week patching all the holes {all 8 of them!}. What a chore. The areas still need a coat or two of mud and then after the final sanding, the walls will be ready for me to paint.

I’m hoping to have the kitchen area painted by next weekend.

Sell Enough Rugs to Buy an AGA Stove DONE!!!

Well I did it!!! I finally hit my goal of selling enough of my 2022 hooked rugs and pillows in my Etsy shop to pay for my new Duck Egg Blue AGA cooker. We’re just waiting for the call from the appliance guy to let us know when it’s in.

I’ve now shifted to saving my rug hooking funds for a “research trip” to England to find the perfect scone {so I can duplicate it in my new oven}.

Fill the Canning Cupboard

The canning cupboard is filling up!

This past week I canned more Costco like salsa and also a batch of bruchetta {I’ll post the recipe soon}.

We have plenty of canned tomatoes and tomato sauce to get us through the winter, so I think I’ll keep focusing on salsa and maybe also work on a few sauce recipes.

So far this year I have canned:

Not canned, but in jars:

Earn Enough Money Selling {?????} To Pay For Our 2022 Grocery Tab By The End Of The Year.

I’ve decided to wait until fall to list my beach finds. I know this is cutting my selling season a bit short, but with so many other things going on right now, I just don’t have the time to add another thing to my to-do list.

Eat More Fruits and Vegetables.

Salsa totally counts, right? 🙂

Keep The Crafts… In The Craft Room.

This past week was not a good one for keeping the crafts out of the craft room. There are stacks of wool EVERYWHERE. 🙂

Tap Our 2 Maple Trees and Make Maple Syrup {DONE}

It was a good experience, and we’re going to do it again next year {although I would like to find a few more trees to tap so our yield is a bit higher}.

Make a Quilt Top

No progress. But the good news is I still have 4 1/4 months to get this goal checked off my list.

Be More Intentional With My Time

The Duck Lady and I went to a yard sale bright and early yesterday and although we didn’t find much, I always think it’s interesting to see what other people are getting rid of… and the value they put on certain items.

Like $12 for an old glass {naked} Mrs. Butterworth syrup bottle with a plastic cap.

But only $0.50 for Maid of Honor vintage pie tins {that are selling for $25 each on Etsy}. 😉 You just never know what you’re going to find… and I love that about yard sales.

1 Craft / Blog Free Day {I’ve had 31 craft/blog free days this year so far.}

Keep My Husband Busy

It was a good week for the HH.  A few small projects, driving Miss Daisy {me} around, and two trips to the recycle center. Maybe next week I can get him to help me paint. We’ll see. 😉

The HH’s Honey Do List {so far} for 2022

  • Take over cooking {I’ll still do the baking and canning}
  • Cut down the cluster of trees in the backyard DONE
  • Build a new set of stairs down to the water.
  • Fill the field {with soil} DONE
  • Remodel 1 bathroom
  • Replace fireplace tile
  • Build window boxes for the front of the house
  • Build an arbor for the wisteria {We decided to move the wisteria to another location instead}
  • Order 4 cords of firewood by the end of May and stack them DONE
  • Sand the floors in the entire house DONE
  • Install new garage door openers {new addition}

My House Projects For This Year {so far}

Project #1 is keeping my whole house blinders on just a little while longer and not stressing about the fact that my house is {and has been since the start of the year} one giant remodeling mess.

I know the fun won’t really start though until the HH pulls out the sink and we’re washing dishes in the bathroom while we wait for the cabinet guys/countertops/plumbers to their bit, but still… It’s the anticipation of it all that I’m trying not to think about.

I know it will all come together in the end. And that’s what I have to focus on.

Things I need to get done this year:

  • Finish painting the outside of the house
  • Finish painting the inside of the house
  • Make something to hang above our new console table
  • Make it look like people actually live here {working on it!}
  • New window treatment for the kitchen window {ordered!}

Try 24 New Recipes {16 down, 8 to go}

This past week I shared a new salsa recipe and HOLY COW MAN it’s the best salsa recipe on the planet.

So far this year I have shared the following recipes:

Listen to 12 Audiobooks {12/12 so far} DONE

This past week I stopped by the library and found an old dictionary {published in the 60’s} on sale for $2. What a steal!

Audiobooks I’ve listened to this year:

Get a Fishing License and Catch a Fish

If the HH was in charge of catching our dinner… we’d starve. I might have to take a pole out and give it a whirl.
