Here’s my big list of things I want to accomplish in 2022:
Remodel The Kitchen
Lately I’ve been looking through real estate listings in England {Cornwall is my favorite area} looking for kitchens with AGA stoves. Those Brits… they’re not afraid of color, that’s for sure.
And I love that when you look at the house listings over there, the homes are comfortable and they look like someone actually lives there. And that they didn’t buy all their tchotchkes at Hobby Lobby. It’s refreshing.
Sell Enough Rugs to Buy an AGA Stove {$7383.85 of $22,000 earned so far}
Hot dog! I’m 1/3 of the way towards my goal. I’ve already started working on some new hooked pieces for my March 5th Etsy update. Maybe I’ll be halfway there by Easter. Wouldn’t that be exciting!
Fill the Canning Cupboard {This is where the canning cupboard will go}
The cupboard isn’t supposed to arrive until spring, but that’s not going to keep me for working on filling it. Jams I’ve made to fill my canning cupboard so far: Ginger Pear Jam and Spiced Christmas Jam.
I have a few recipes I want to get to before gardening season hits… I just need to find the time.
Earn Enough Money Selling {?????} To Pay For Our 2022 Grocery Tab By The End Of The Year.
I haven’t actually listed them yet, but I plan on selling rocks, shells, driftwood and a few other found treasures to pay for my groceries this year. I think it will be fun to see not only what sells, but see where the people buying the beach treasures are from.
Eat More Fruits and Vegetables
Currently swimming in avocados. I asked the HH to buy 4 and he bought 8. And now they’re all ripe.
Keep The Crafts… In The Craft Room!
Ha Ha Ha.
I’ve been working on dyeing wool this past week so I can list a big batch of bundles on Etsy in a few days and let’s just say… our house looks like a wool factory right now. I suspect I’ll have 12 bushels of wool bundles to offer up by the time I’m done.
My goal is to have all my undyed wool dyed and bundled up by March 31st so I can enjoy gardening season this year and not have to worry about anything else.
Tap Our 2 Maple Trees and Make Maple Syrup
No tapping going on this month… but we should probably make plans to go to Hussey’s General Store soon and get our tapping supplies.
Make a Quilt Top
I didn’t make time to get anymore quilt squares cut this past week. I knew this part would be a total pain… but I’m keeping my eye on the prize: a finished quilt.
Be More Intentional With My Time
Lucy and her 12 o’clock snack {what’s left of it}. It’s one of my favorite times of day. She gets so excited when she gets her afternoon chewy. It’s the sweetest thing ever. Like a little kid with a piece of candy.
1 Craft / Blog Free Day
So far I’m 5 for 6 this year. Which is a HUGE improvement over previous years.
Keep My Husband Busy
On Saturday mornings I make a mini honey do list for the HH of {quick} projects I need help with around the house with. My serger had seemed a little sluggish lately and so I asked him of he would open it up and give it a tune up.
And well, it was just a tad bit dusty in there.
The HH’s Honey Do List {so far} for 2022
- Take over cooking {I’ll still do the baking and canning}
- Cut down the cluster of trees in the backyard
- Build a new set of stairs down to the water.
- Fill the field {with soil}
- Remodel 1 bathroom
- Build window boxes for the front of the house
- Build an arbor for the wisteria
- Order 4 cords of firewood by the end of May and stack them in an artful way {like they did in the book Norwegian Wood}.
My House Projects For This Year {so far}
- Finish painting the outside of the house
- Finish painting the inside of the house
- Make something to hang above our new console table
- Make it look like people actually live here HA HA HA
- New window treatment for the kitchen window
Try 24 New Recipes {4 down, 21 to go}
Last week I shared a recipe for Apple Cinnamon Granola.
- Mrs. C’s Slow Cooker Pot Roast
- Ginger Pear Jam
- Lentils with Carrots and Thyme
- Dutch Oven Cinnamon Raisin Bread
- Dutch Oven Olive and Rosemary Bread
Listen to 12 Audiobooks
I have borrowers guilt. I did picked up The Boys by Ron and Clint Howard at the library a week and a half ago and have only managed to read the forward so far. I need to find out if our library has overdrive or something like that because the audio CD’s are $51.99!
I don’t know why… but it’s much easier for me to listen to an audiobook while I’m working, rather than finding the time to sit down a be still for 12 hours and read.
Audiobooks I’ve listened to this year:
Night Road by Kristen Hannah on Audiobook. I’d give it a 9/10.
Get a Fishing License and Catch a Fish
The HH is in charge of procuring all the fishing gear. So you know, there’s lot’s of research to be done first.
One of my projects last wee was to get all my seed packets organized by planting dates and it feels so good to have that knocked off my list. And lucky me, I don’t have to plant anything until March 15th! Yee-Haw.
My List of Garden Projects For This Year I want to Accomplish
- Map out this year’s garden by April 1st
- Plant apple or pear trees
- Plant raspberry and blueberry bushes
- Plant asparagus and rhubarb
- Grow 500 pounds of food
- Expand the lasagna garden
- Finish clearing the front of the property
- Get some garden pots for the front an back patio/porches
Create 12 New Rug Hooking Patterns and/or Kits
The plan was to create at least 1 new pattern each month. So far I have added 6 new patterns/kits to my Etsy shop:
- Folk Art Chicken
- Valentine Kisses
- 1736 Tulips
- Large Valentine Heart Runner
- Antique Flower Basket
- Love Grows Fraktur Bird
Have All My 2022 Ornaments Finished by April 1st.
I’m taking a break from ornaments right now and working on garden markers instead.
52 Walks {We’ve gone on 1 of 51 so far}
It’s still too cold to go out for walks.
Visit 12 Towns in Maine That I Haven’t Been to Before
So far we have visited the town of Hope Maine and checked out the General Store there.
How about YOU? How did you do with working towards your goals for 2022?
